Tim Mitchell is a Grammy-winning music record producer, songwriter, and guitarist from Detroit. He attended Interlochen Arts Academy for high school, majoring in composition, and received a scholarship to attend the University Of Miami as a performance major.
He has helped create and produce multiplatinum hits for a broad range of artists, including Bob Seger, Shakira, Gloria Estefan, Mandy Moore, Jon Secada, Paulina Rubio, Alejandra Guzman, Gloria Treve; HA-Ash; Roberto Carlos, and many more.
Mitchell produced Shakira's MTV Unplugged Album which went on to win Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album at the 43rd Annual Grammy Awards and was nominated in multiple categories for Latin Grammy's (Album Of The Year / Best Pop Album) as well. The album is considered to have paved the way for Shakira's successful English crossover.
Immediately following, He co-wrote and produced songs on Shakira's Laundry Service album, including the smash hit, Whenever Wherever (Suerte- Spanish version) which gained a record-breaking chart success worldwide and went on to win BMI's song of the year.
Mitchell continues to write with Shakira and MD her tours and live appearances as well as collaborate and develop established and new artists. He currently resides in Miami. Shakira's latest hit "Girl Like Me" now in 2021 is also a co-write with Tim Mitchell and the black-eyed peas.
Tim was the Musical Director and bandleader of HBO's A Tiny Audience, one of the only TV shows filmed in 2020 with an audience. Season 2 to be aired in 2021.
